delays worsen on the d line in february 2010

D continues to stand for Delayed.

Updated figures from the MTA’s website (as of February 2010) show that only 62.1% of D trains ran on time – that’s a 12.5% drop in timeliness from January 2010 and a 13.5% drop from February 2009.

System-wide, an average of 69.7% of trains ran on-time in February 2010, itself an 8.1% drop in timeliness from January 2010 and a 9.8% drop from February 2009.

Making matters worse, system-wide ridership in February 2010 fell over 3.17% from the year before – nearly 3.82 million fewer people rode the subway compared with February 2009.

This is certainly bad news for MTA – and even worse news for us, given that the “doomsday” service cuts haven’t taken effect yet! One can only hope that we get the aid we need to get our subway system back on track, lest the delays get even worse!
