[The Service]

The Nobel Tutoring Service (formerly the nerdy.nel Tutoring Service) is my brand of professional tutoring in mathematics, statistics, and résumé and cover letter writing. With over 14 years of tutoring experience, my strong work ethic, patience, and diligence in my tutoring and treatment of my tutees continues to yield higher course grades, increased understanding of math and stats, recommendations from students, parents, and faculty, and long-lasting friendships.

Elementary-Level

  • Mathematics and statistics topics generally taught in grades K through 8
  • Test prep, limited to:
    • New York State math tests, up to 8th grade
    • Specialized High School Admissions Test (SHSAT) – limited to the quantitative parts
    • NEW! Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT), Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE), Test for Admission into Catholic High Schools (TACHS), Cooperative Entrance Exam (COOP), and High School Placement Test (HSPT) – limited to the quantitative parts
  • Mock exams – SHSAT, SSAT, ISEE, TACHS, COOP, and HSPT
  • Résumé and cover letter writing

Intermediate-Level

  • Mathematics and statistics topics generally taught in grades 9 through 12 and some introductory college courses, except Advanced Placement
  • Test prep, limited to:
    • Regents exams in algebra I, algebra II, geometry, and trigonometry
    • PSAT/NMSQT, SAT, and ACT – limited to the quantitative parts
    • SAT Subject Tests in Mathematics – both Level 1 and Level 2
    • Mock Regents exams – algebra I, algebra II, geometry, and trigonometry
    • Mock exams – PSAT/NMSQT, SAT, ACT, and SAT Subject Tests in Mathematics (both Level 1 and Level 2)

Advanced-Level

  • Advanced Placement Calculus (AB and BC) and Statistics
  • College-level math (Calculus I and II) and statistics
  • Test prep, limited to:
    • AP Calculus AB and BC
    • AP Statistics
    • GRE – limited to the quantitative part
  • Mock exams – AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, GRE

[Professional Tutoring Hours for the 2018-2019 School Year]
effective 07.01.2018 until 06.29.2019

  • Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and alternate Fridays from July 6th: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
  • Alternate Fridays from July 13th, and Saturdays: 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM
  • Sundays: 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM
  • Note: Additional days/times available in very limited circumstances; however, Professional Tutoring ends at 8:00 PM on any given day.

Blackout Dates: Professional Tutoring is unavailable on the following days:

  • 11.16.2018 through 11.18.2018
  • 12.25.2018 through 12.26.2018
  • 01.01.2019 through 01.02.2019
  • 01.25.2019 through 01.27.2019
  • 05.10.2019 through 05.19.2019

Elementary-Level Tutoring
$40 per hour

Intermediate-Level Tutoring
$55 per hour

Advanced-Level Tutoring
$80 per hour

Billing Surcharge
$0 for cash payments; 3.9% of the Tutoring Charge for noncash payments.

Note: I accept cash and many forms of noncash payment, including debit, credit, and prepaid cards (both swipe and chip cards), tap-and-go methods such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, the Cash App, and PayPal.
